Frequently Asked Questions

Hopefully this will capture all of the questions you might have about potential orders. Expect this to be a regularly updated document.

Why don't you list hours?

This is a custom bakery, so there aren't any cupcakes available until you place your order. Part of the ordering process is setting up a time for pickup. Generally, pickups are available in the morning until about 9, and evenings from 6:30-10 PM, and most weekends.

Do you deliver?

Unfortunately, no. Part of the requirement of operating under cottage industry rules in VA requires me to only make food available for pickup. I can sell at farmer's markets, and when I get to that point, I will certainly advertise, but for now, it's pickup only.

Can you add alcohol to anything?

Hypothetically, yes, but realistically, it depends on flavors commercially available and dietary needs.

There isn't any actual alcohol in the cupcakes, since it all cooks off, right?

Wellllllll, not exactly. Yes, when you bake using alcohol, most of the alcohol cooks off. However, the alcohol in the fillings and the frostings aren't cooked, so those are full content.

So can I get drunk off of these cupcakes?

No, there isn't THAT much alcohol. In general, for every two dozen cupcakes there's only a shot or two of alcohol. So there is enough to taste it, but not enough to actually get drunk.

Why does it take at least two days to complete an order?

Because as much as I love baking, I've got a 9-5 that I have to maintain. And ultimately, I'm just one man, alone, trying to bake the food that he loves. And yes, there are those who call me The Maestro.

Do you offer gluten-free cupcakes?

For a surcharge, yes. However, there are limits to the options for alcoholic gluten-free cupcakes. Please feel free to submit any questions when contacting.

Would you describe your cupcakes as "handcrafted" or "artisan"?

In the sense that I don't have a factory in my kitchen, sure. In the sense that I'm trying to cater to hipster foodies, ummmmmmmmm. No.
